Costco is celebrating the 26th anniversary of its partnership with United Way, and continues their mission to give back and support the communities where they do business.

Cash or Check

Please make checks payable to Inland Empire United Way. If you want your gift to benefit to a specific service area, please write, “East Valley Region,” “Mt. Baldy Region,” or “Palo Verde Valley Region,” on the memo line. Checks can be mailed to: Inland Empire United Way, 9644 Hermosa Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730. Please let us know if you would like acknowledgement of your donation.

Gifts of cash are accepted at the Inland Empire United Way corporate office, 9644 Hermosa Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga. Please call 909-980-2857 ext. 252 to arrange for a time to come in.

Stock

Consult your personal financial or tax advisor to see how a gift of securities can benefit you. The stock must be long-term, owned at least one year and a day.

Ways to give stock

1. If you do not have physical possession of the stock certificate, please notify your broker to initiate a broker-to-broker transfer. This will transfer the donated stock from your brokerage account to United Way’s brokerage account. Cal Inland Empire United Way for specific instructions regarding disposition.
2. If you have physical possession of the actual stock certificate, you may send the unendorsed stock certificate by express, registered or certified mail, return requested to Inland Empire United Way, 9644 Hermosa Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730. At the same time, the executed stock power should be send separately to Inland Empire United Way at the same address. Stock certificates may also be delivered by hand. Copies of the required stock power may be obtained from a bank, broker or United Way.
3. Not everyone owns individual shares of stock, but most people invest in mutual funds. Like stock, mutual fund shares can be contributed to United Way and carry the same tax benefits associated with outright gifts of stock. To assure efficient processing, please give one month’s notice before making such a gift.
4. Some companies permit employees to contribute restricted stock to United Way. Please check with your benefits office to see if your employer permits restricted stock to be contributed to charity.

Planned Giving

Planned gift options include bequests by will, real estate, IRA’s and retirement plans, life insurance and stocks. A planned gift to Inland Empire United Way may even provide financial and tax advantages for you. Your professional advisor can help you determine the best way to make a planned gift. Non-Cash Donations

Gifts in Honor of a Loved One: Tribute Cards

Tribute cards are great gifts for holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, or any special occasion. You, your friends, and your loved ones can all share in the spirit of giving when you make a financial contribution to Inland Empire United Way in their honor. In return for your donation, Inland Empire United Way sends a personalized card to each recipient in whose name you make the donation. Donate your gift online or send a check, made payable to Inland Empire United Way, to:

Don't forget to include the names and addresses of who you are making the donation in honor of.
