ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. (January 14, 2010) – The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) announces it will host a Kids Craft Fair to support local Kids In Need Foundation (KINF) partners, the Inland Empire United Way’s (IEUW) KidSmart’s School Tools program and the Boys & Girls Club of Fontana, Calif. Scheduled on Jan. 21, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Fontana on the Almeria Middle School campus, the Kids Craft Fair will provide 200 kids with meaningful, arts and crafts projects, while raising awareness for the Kids In Need Foundation and its partners that provide free school supplies to students and educators in at-risk areas across the country.
Students in the afterschool programs will have opportunities to make their own unique crafts, rotating among several craft stations, creating scrapbook art squares, personalized bracelets and discovering the fun of crafting. “I’m grateful to CHA members who stepped up and donated thousands of dollars worth of school and craft supplies for this event,” said Steve Berger, CHA president and CEO. “By supporting events and organizations like the Kids In Need Foundation, the Inland Empire United Way and the Boys & Girls Club of Fontana, we can raise awareness and secure desperately needed school supplies for some 600 local teachers across the Inland Empire.”
The Kids Craft Fair is a simple way that CHA’s members give back to the local community, while attending two craft and hobby industry events - the CHA Craft SuperShow consumer event on Jan. 22-23 and the 69th annual CHA Winter Convention & Trade Show Jan. 24-27 in Anaheim, Calif.
