PBS economic topic of the week: Community bridges

January 22, 2009

Yucaipa News Mirror Web Edition

The Inland Empire has been hit hard by the financial crisis and many of us are feeling the pinch.

Now there's a resource that can give advice and tips directly from those in a position to know.

The San Bernardino PBS station, KVCR, is running a three-month weekly series on issues relevant to you and the economy.

The live call-in show, It's Your Call, features local host, Roger Bowman, asking important questions of regional authorities that may help you weather the storm.

Best of all, you can call the PBS toll-free number and ask your own questions of the experts during the broadcast. Each week features a different focal topic.

Tomorrow's guests are from the Inland Empire United Way, an organization that has responded to the economic hardships by helping thousands through these tough times with support, outreach, referral services and direct assistance. There may be assistance services available that you aren't aware of, so tune in to find out what programs can help bridge a rocky spot for those of us facing a financial challenge.

The one-hour program, It's Your Call, airs Fridays at 7 p.m. on KVCR, the Inland Empire PBS station, broadcasting on channel 24 in Digital, DirecTv and Dish networks.
