U.S. Bank announced Sunday that it will donate $50 to Inland Empire United Way's Kids Pack program every time a Rancho Cucamonga Quakes minor league baseball player hits a home run in 2010.
The Inland Empire United Way Kids Pack program addresses nutritional needs for local kids who have meals provided by schools during the week, but may go without good nutrition on the weekend.
Inland Empire United Way is able to provide a child with a nutritious bag of food for $3.
The Quakes average about 100 home runs per year, so an estimated 800 more children could receive Kids Packs this year, bank officials said.
