
Teens Make a Difference Awards Ceremony

The 16th annual Teens Make a Difference Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 14th at the Inland Center Mall in San Bernardino.
This ceremony recognizes local high school students for their outstanding volunteer service at community places such as libraries, hospitals, participating schools and other nonprofit and community based organizations. A total of 79,787 hours of service were volunteered by 834 high school students in the past year.
All students, regardless of the number of hours completed, will be recognized. The value of a volunteer service hour is $20.25 as determined by the Independent Sector; therefore, a contribution valued at $1,615,687 has been provided to our community.
“Teens Make a Difference Awards” ceremony was created by Inland Center to encourage high school teens to volunteer in their communities,” said Terri Relf, Senior Marketing Manager at Inland Center Mall.
Teens Make a Difference Awards Ceremony 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 14 Inland Center Mall at Center Court 500 Inland Center Drive, San Bernardino, CA 92408 Students from the following communities will be recognized: Colton, Grand Terrace, Highland, Loma Linda, Mentone, Redlands, Rialto, San Bernardino and Yucaipa. “Volunteering is a great opportunity to experience, grow and learn while helping our community.” said Rebecca Martin, Director of Community Impact at Arrowhead United Way. “We recognize local teens that volunteer because they change the lives of others but as a result they learn skills to become the leaders of tomorrow.”
Since the inception of the awards ceremony in 1993, we have recorded a total number of 6,134 volunteers completing 789,917 hours. This is a program of Inland Center Mall, Arrowhead United Way’s Volunteers United program and Inland Empire United Way’s Hands On. www.InlandCenter.com.
