Inland Empire United Way Announces Two Volunteer Leaders

Inland Empire United Way, a nonprofit organization engaging a caring community to respond to human need, recently announced Mr. Dan Byrnes of UPS and Ms. Carolyn Villerreal of Target as Board Co-Chairs to provide leadership and oversee the organization’s initiatives and programs.

Byrnes has been an employee of UPS, the world’s largest package delivery company and a leading global provider of specialized transportation and logistics services, for 26 years and has been the Controller for UPS Southeast California in Ontario since 2005. Byrnes has been a community advocate throughout his career and has been involved in many activities, including Inland Empire United Way since 2007 and Habitat for Humanity in 2006. Dan Byrnes resides in Orange County with his wife of 20 years, Susan, and three wonderful sons Bobby, Jimmy, and Joe.

Villerreal has been with Target, one of the largest discount retailers in the United States, for 5 years a­nd serving as Community Captain for T553 in Fontana for three of those years. Villerreal currently serves as Chair for Inland Empire United Way’s Education & Health Initiative, KidSmart, and Inland Valley Hope Partners. One of Villerreal’s passions is to give back by volunteering her time to those in need. Carolyn Villerreal is happily married to her high school sweetheart for 24 years and has two wonderful children both in college.

“Our Board Co-Chairs bring strong leadership and significant experience along with their passion and dedication to our community,” said Inland Empire United Way’s Interim Executive Director, Crystal Todd. “We are extremely excited to work with Dan and Carolyn and hope to make an even greater impact as we continue to make long-lasting and positive changes in our community.”
