San Bernardino County Fire Recovery Fund
San Bernardino County, CA (October 24, 2007) – 2-1-1 is a
toll-free phone number that provides information and referrals
for health and social services and the latest information on the
San Bernardino County Fires. Dialing 2-1-1 is the quickest way
to access non-emergency resources for your family, your
neighbors and your employees. Not only is 2-1-1 a great way to
receive assistance, but you can also give help through 2-1-1.
Residents can donate cash to the San Bernardino County Fire
Recovery Fund (Inland Empire United Way) to ensure that families
and individuals most-affected by the Slide and Grass Valley
Fires will receive assistance needed to continue their lives.

“This assistance may include help with housing and food,
counseling, transportation, and supplies necessary to make
temporary living quarters a home,” said Carol Baker, Inland
Empire United Way president. “Funds donated are fully
tax-deductible and will be distributed quickly; no
administrative charge will be taken. If your business or
organization can offer supplementary supplies, materials or
services, please contact Inland Empire United Way at (909)
980-2857 ext. 204.”
Residents are encouraged to dial 2-1-1 or (888) 435-7565 for
information on current fire emergencies such as road closings,
evacuation shelters, mail/postal information, school closings
and free storage. 2-1-1 call specialist can also give callers
information on shelter and housing, clothing, food and water,
animal assistance, health care, government resources among other
information.
2-1-1 is a toll-free phone number that provides information and
referral to people from anywhere in the San Bernardino County.
2-1-1 is free and confidential, and a live, bilingual call
specialist assists callers 24 hours a day. Hundreds of health
and social services are available by simply dialing 2-1-1 (or
888-435-7565).

service provider for San Bernardino County. The 2-1-1 service
has been implemented in 32 states across 169 centers in the U.S.
