Join fellow nonprofit professionals on March 19 -
the First YNPN event will give young nonprofit leaders an edge
San Bernardino County and the Pomona Valley, CA (March 5,
2008) – Local nonprofit professionals are invited to attend
the first local meeting for YNPN, a nationwide network that
works to support future nonprofit and community leaders. This
event will take place from 5:30 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19
at the Cal Poly Pomona - Downtown Center (300 W. Second St.,
Pomona, CA 91766).
This event is FREE, but donations of hygiene items are
encouraged and will be distributed to the Tent City community in
Ontario. A light dinner and beverages will be provided.

“Networking with other nonprofit professionals and sharing
resources and ideas will play a large role in this first
meeting,” said Allan Collins, Inland Empire United Way Pathways
Director. “Local professionals will have a chance to learn
together how to strengthen the nonprofit sector, and young
people will also be given the opportunity to assume a leadership
role in the group to gain experience and build their
portfolios.”

The Inland Empire Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN)
acts as the central place for information and resources for
nonprofit professionals. Inland Empire YNPN will serve future
leaders by offering professional development programs, mentoring
and leadership opportunities, and networking and social
gatherings designed for professionals working in the nonprofit
sector. The mission of the program is to develop a sustainable,
community driven model that will enhance capacity-building
efforts of the Inland Empire nonprofit sector.
Location is provided by Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center.
