Free BoardLinks training for professionals wanting to serve on a nonprofit board

Inland Empire, CA (April 1, 2008) – BoardLinks, a program of Inland Empire United Way, is a free training for management-level employees wanting to serve on a nonprofit board of directors. Join us:

6 - 8 p.m.
Wednesday, May 21
Inland Empire United Way

9624 Hermosa Avenue
Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730

BoardLinks partners with local companies and corporations to recruit and train talented management-level and above individuals who are interested in serving as a board member but perhaps do not know which agency is the best fit for their interests and talents. Training empowers potential board candidates to become contributing members to a nonprofit board and to understand the legal responsibilities of board oversight.

Once training is completed, BoardLinks then assists the volunteer in their search for a leadership position that matches their interest. By facilitating the connection between these newly trained leaders and opportunities in the community, BoardLinks increases the pool of skilled and enthusiastic candidates, broadens the diversity on local boards, cultivates community networks, enhances corporate social responsibility and ultimately strengthens the nonprofit organization’s capacity to serve our communities.

Sign up today for this free informative session and get connected with an organization where you can invest your time, skills and interests. RSVP online at www.HandsOnInlandEmpire.org or contact Bryant Fairley at (909) 980-2857 ext. 223 or bfairley@ieuw.org
